Allison + Adam | Cozy Fall Wedding | Touch of Class | Cedar Rapids, IA

It all started in January of 2020 when four people got together over dinner to talk about a possibility of wedding photography at an out of state wedding later that year. These four people left that evening feeling excited for what was to come, having made new friends and new plans for the future. However, the future is never what we expect it to be and a couple months later, the world was thrown into chaos, and Allie and Adam's 2020 wedding was sadly postponed until 2021. Until November 2021. Until this past weekend. Why do we share this? Because we want you to feel the weight when we tell you that Allie and Adam's first words to each other on the wedding day was: "It's here. Today is finally here!"
When we say Allie and Adam are two of the "most genuine people that we know," we still feel like we are falling short in conveying how these two truly think of others before themselves. We can't count the number of times they thanked not only their friends and family for being at the wedding, but also their vendors as well! We kept finding them moving from group to group during their reception, as they made sure that each and every one of their guests were enjoying themselves and that they knew how thankful the couple was that they came to their wedding! And yet, because Allie and Adam trusted us, both as their friends and as their photographers, we were able to capture not one or two, but three different portrait sessions with them, while still giving them plenty of time to simply enjoy the day they had been looking forward to for a long time!
Since we are based out of Michigan, this wedding trip was obviously going to bring us way outside of our normal scope of locations, and we couldn't think of a better way to end out of 2021 Wedding Season! Cedar Rapids is nestled in the heart of the United States and since we got there a day early, we were able to explore both Allie and Adam's church and venue to find the absolute best spots for their bridal portraits! The Touch of Class event center is like stepping into a real-life magic trick, because the venue continued to surprise us with not only its spacious interior for Allie and Adam's reception, but also for the gorgeous forest meadow the venue was hiding in the back half of it property! Our only negative comment for Touch of Class is that we live so far away from it!
Allie and Adam, when we think back to that evening in 2020, we can't help but agree that both of your dads said it best on your wedding day: "God had a plan." It has been such a journey to get to this moment and now, we can't help but feel a small tinge of sadness knowing that this adventure with the four of us is coming to an end. Thankfully, now that you two are married, a new adventure can begin as you two enter into the world, now as husband and wife; and we can only hope that we will get to be a part of that adventure as well! Continue to love and serve others well; you both are so good at and we know that you will only grow in it in the years to come! All our best!

Allie, your laugh and smile is so contagious and brightens up the room to all around you!

We love hearing the words "Group Hug!" after a bridesmaids' first look with the bride!
