Ellen + Josh | Warm, Spring Wedding | Macatawa Golf Club | Holland, MI
The joyful sound rang out over the bustling town of Holland. Church bells, weathered but yet still beautiful, began to swing back and forth, resounding in the cheerful tones that could only mean one thing: someone was having a wedding that day. As if perfectly on cue, the doors of the church swung open and out walked Ellen and Josh, the perfect picture of two people who are more than ready to not only celebrate, but also to begin a life together. The sound of the church bells was almost immediately engulfed by the cheers that rose from the crowd as they celebrated the new "Mr. and Mrs. Rahman!"
Although Ellen and Josh call Chicago their home, their hearts were pulled across the lake to the town of Holland for their spring destination wedding. Surrounded by loved ones from the very beginning of the day, both Ellen and Josh walked the beautiful balance of enjoying the day and nervous anticipation throughout the entire morning. By the time they were able to spend a quiet moment together before the ceremony, it took every ounce of self-control for Ellen to not run up and give Josh and hug from behind. Thankfully, they did not have to wait much longer as soon afterwards, they were driving away from the church as husband and wife.
Not only could the town of Holland provide a beautiful church for Ellen and Josh's wedding, but it also provided the perfect location for a reception space filled with music and dancing. The Macatawa Golf Club's banquet hall was transformed by Melons and Marigolds into a vision of elegance, as guests were greeted by incredible accoutrements and an even more incredible atmosphere for the evening, provided by the iconic Bluewater Kings Band. Ending out the day with a final photo session with the soft golden light of sunset truly ended this day as it began; with joy and excitement for what is to come.
Ellen and Josh, knowing you two has been a joy for us over the last year. From exploring Chicago and sharing restaurant recommendations, to already planning a golf outing in the future, we easily see what everyone else shared about during their speeches: you are two of the kindest, most thoughtful people we know. We can only imagine how that kindness will grow now that you are not two, but one; and we can't wait to see the life that you create for yourselves!
All our best!
