Kristi + Jake | Engagement \ Battle Creek, MI
The monuments loomed in the background. While the city that Kristi and Jake called home was just beginning to stir, two people sat underneath the shadows of some of our nation's greatest landmarks as they decided to spend the rest of their lives together. This was the proposal story of Kristi and Jake and in less than a year, they will be getting married in the same town where they said "Yes!"...and we'll be right there with them!
We originally became connected with Kristi and Jake through one of our previous J + A couples, and although they both live in Washington, D.C. we were thrilled to find out that they were visiting family over the summer and wanted to make sure that engagement photos happened during their trip! Although Michigan is a naturally beautiful state, the weather can sometimes be a bit temperamental, to the point that we had to call a last minute "change of venue" and transition from a outdoor, nature-like session to an urban, city location. But as we spent the evening with Kristi and Jake, we not only found one of our new, all-time favorite locations, but we also learned that these two can make any place look amazing as they effortlessly flowed from moment to moment during their session. The possibilities with these two in Washington D.C. are going to be simply endless!
Kristi and Jake, even though we felt like the evening flew by, it simply made us more excited to spend the day with you all in Washington D.C. next year! We are so thankful that we got to meet in person at Savannah and Collin's wedding, and now the story continues as we get to celebrate with you two as well! The perspective you two shared with us about your day was truly refreshing, and it showed us how you both are simply perfect for each other! We know it's going to feel like an eternity, but the wait is definitely going to be worth it! See you next year!
