Throughout life, we are all searching for that one person who feels like "home." Someone who we can truly be ourselves with, who can make us laugh and who can relieve our greatest worries and fears. But on that journey to find that person, it can sometimes feel like they don't exist, like you will never find "the one." However, all of the waiting and searching simply makes the moment you find that person that much more incredible. This search for "home" kept coming to our minds during Kursten and Jason's wedding day, as we got the chance to see two people who are truly "home" when they are with each other!
Not only do Kursten and Jason find their "home" with each other, but they also have the incredible ability to make anyone around them feel perfectly relaxed and comfortable as well! Whether Jason was telling someone a joke, or Kursten was talking to someone about their day, we saw these two bring life to others on a day which was supposed to be all about them! However, although the day was absolutely beautiful, Kursten and Jason's story is still marked by one of the greatest rivalries of our day: Michigan vs. Michigan State! Somehow, these two found a way to look past that and become husband and wife, which shows that there is truly hope for any of us!
The Lake House Venue in Ludington provided one of the most unique views we've experienced this year for our weddings, as we traded downtown buildings and vast fields for warm beaches and coastal aesthetics. We felt like Kursten and Jason had magically transported their entire wedding from Michigan to Florida as the beach town of Ludington showed off in such a way that made us hope and pray for more coastal weddings in 2023! From being literally walking distance from the Ludington docks to the beautiful coastal architecture, this little beach town perfectly captured the vibe and feel of the destination wedding Kursten and Jason dreamed of for their friends and family.
Kursten and Jason, we just have to thank you for giving us one of the funniest, most joyful portrait sessions we have ever had on a wedding day! Jason, your care and concern in making sure that your bride enjoyed your portraits was simply the sweetest, and Kursten, the way you look at your husband made us almost forget that you two are bitter rivals when it comes to your schools! As you two begin this life together, keep finding "home" with each other, and never stop laughing and enjoying the fact that you two get to spend your lives together.
