Megan + Nathan | Downtown + Beach Engagement Shoot | Holland, MI

There is beauty in the imperfect. Sometimes, the sun is in a different place in the sky than last week, or the wind is blowing so much that hair tends to become quite the nuisance. Many people would get frustrated, thinking that this is all going to be a waste because the situation isn't perfect. But for people like Megan and Nathan, who lean into the imperfect and trust the process, the result can be something unique and truly beautiful!

This Holland engagement shoot brought all of the charm of Hope College and perfectly combined it with the beautiful sand dunes of Tunnel park on Lake Michigan. Megan and Nathan decided to invest more time into their session by staying with just one outfit for both locations, which created a perfect "visual bridge" between the grandiose buildings of the college and the delicate nature that surrounded them on the beach. One of the secret blessings of Tunnel park is the walk from the parking lot to the beach, as it provided us time to put the cameras down and get to know these two beautiful people we were able to spend the evening with!

Megan and Nathan, to say that that night felt like it went by way too fast for us would be an understatement. As we drove away, we felt like we had just started to get to know you two, which makes us even more excited to spend your wedding day with you next year! You both make loving each other look so easy, which literally makes our job of capturing the real you that much easier! Thank you so much for trusting us through the wind and the waves, because when we look at your photos, we can't help but love how they turned out!
