Life is filled with all kinds of variety: different seasons, different colors of flowers, and even different flavors of ice cream! Variety breeds creativity, and for our engagement shoots we always encourage our couples to bring at least two outfits. Why? Because now their only evening of photos looks like they had two or even three separate photoshoots! A simple outfit and location change can give your engagement photos a different style and look while still happening on the same evening! And simply put, Paige and Jordan absolutely perfected this idea on their engagement shoot!

Paige and Jordan are the perfect mixture of a couple that enjoys the outdoors while also appreciating everything a city has to offer! In just a few hours, we found ourselves not only chatting about their favorite walking trails and playing golf but also about the Van Gogh art exhibit they were going to see in the near future! This "balanced" approach to life is something that we've always admired in couples, and it is something that we strive for in our lives as well! Having things you are passionate about are great, but just focusing in one area of life can keep you from experiencing new and exciting things!

This was actually our second attempt with Paige and Jordan for their engagement shoot, since our first evening was derailed when their second outfits weren't quite ready in time. However, have you ever heard the adage "Good things come to those who wait"? Because trust us, these outfits and locations were worth the wait! We were able to capture Paige and Jordan on their local walking trail with their adorable lab (who will absolutely be in the wedding!) before heading to downtown Detroit for their outfit change. The contrast of the nature trails with the marble stone of Detroit totally makes this blog feel like we spent two full evenings with them, while we actually only spent a few hours of the evening with them!

Paige and Jordan, we have already loved hanging with you for just a few hours, and it has gotten us even more excited for your wedding this year! It's truly too much fun to watch you guys interact with each other and with Lily, and we know that that joy will fill your wedding day! Remember to enjoy the season that you are in, even if the planning can get a little overwhelming sometimes! We are so excited to see you both in October!
