Sabrina + Grant | Iconic, Downtown Wedding | Sweetest Heart of Mary Church | Detriot, MI

July 20, 2022

The beginning notes of the wedding march began to majestically resonant through the sanctuary. Beautifully adorned walls which have stood the test of time shown as the stained glass captured the light and split it into rainbows as it descended on the crowd. The moment could almost be described as “perfect,” but for Grant, everything in that moment paled in comparison to his bride as she walked down the aisle. The way that Grant looked at Sabrina in these moments didn’t just stop as she walked down the aisle, but continued throughout the rest of the day. Through the rest of their ceremony, through the iconic photos, and right on into their reception, the greatest struggle these two had on their wedding day was taking their eyes off of each other.

From the first moments we saw Sabrina and Grant in their getting ready rooms, the excitement we saw on their faces reminded us how simply beautiful people these two are. Thankfully, they were able to find one of the few places in Michigan that could match that beauty of their ceremony at the stunning Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church in downtown Detroit. Each and every part of the day was perfectly aligned to Sabrina’s vision, which included not one or two, but three separate portrait sessions in a few of the most iconic locations Detroit has to offer

Although Downtown Detroit has given us some of our favorite engagement sessions to date, there is just something different about having a wedding dress and a cathedral length veil! Whether we were spending time celebrating with their bridal party in front of the Detroit Institute of the Arts, or simply grabbing a few photos near the Cadillac Place, each and every location seemed to have a charm and personality all its own! These two made every location stop worth it, and we found ourselves hoping and praying for another Detroit wedding soon as we made our way to their reception to finish out the evening.

Sabrina and Grant, we’d like to take a page from the speeches of so many others who shared the same sentiment during your reception: the love and care you show to each other and others around you is truly inspiring. The number of times someone shared with us about how you have impacted their life shows how truly selfless you both are, and now that we have spent a whole day with you, we can now wholeheartedly agree with them! Enjoy this new life that you two are beginning! And thank you for the cupcakes!!

All our best!
