Sam + Nick | Romantic Backyard Wedding | Otsego, MI

He watched as his friends and family rounded the corner of the pavilion and made their way up to the backdrop adorned with florals and lanterns. He had waited all day for this moment, and as his two little girls slowly walked towards him, he knew that the moment was almost here. Finally, the music softly changed and before he knew it, he caught his first glimpse of his bride as she walked out from behind the wall with her father. In that moment, the rain seemed to fade into the distance and all he could see was the woman who he was about to say "I do" with for the rest of their lives.

If you were anywhere in South Michigan over the past week, then you know that the weather wasn't the friendly part of the day. However, you would never have known when you looked at Sam and Nick, as they took the entire day in stride with the attitude of "Regardless of what is going on outside, we are getting married!" And with a day full of changes and adjustments, we've never been more proud of a couple or of a vendor team that worked together to make sure that the day was still romantic and beautiful! The whole day was filled with hilarious moments of "near-misses" when jumping out onto the fields to snag portraits before hopping back in to not be blasted with rain and chasing rainbows as the sun started to set.

Maple Ridge Farms was the backdrop for Sam and Nick's "backyard" wedding and between us and the videographer "Happy Camper Productions," we are really trying to convince them to take the leap of faith and become a full-fledged wedding venue! The field right outside the venue had the perfect variety of trees and wheat fields to give us options galore, not to mention their forest ceremony space which we sadly couldn't use because all of us forgot our flippers at home this weekend! Although we weren't able to use the forest location, the barn still was able to house over 100 of Sam and Nick's friends and family in their indoor area; and once Luxx Entertainment started the reception with their music (and smoke cannon!), we almost forgot that there was a storm outside!

Sam and Nick, if you guys can weather a storm like this past week and still have this much fun on your wedding day, then we know that you two are going to absolutely ROCK marriage and all of the excitement it brings! We so enjoyed watching you guys love on your daughters during your engagement shoot and as we watched the four of you come together during your first dance, we know that your family is destined for some really beautiful things in the future! For now, enjoy these little moments from your beautiful day and enjoy some well-deserved rest on your honeymoon! All our best!
