Stephanie + Will | Classic City Wedding | Summit Church | Mishawaka, MI
"I was just talking to Will earlier this week about the wedding, and when we thought about you guys, I said that it felt like our best friends were coming to shoot our wedding!" We paused in our tracks as Steph shared this with us while we were taking her bridal portraits, and we were suddenly reminded all over again why we love these two so much. Their intentionality with their words, their energy, and their lives challenged us, even after our first meeting on Zoom, and all throughout their wedding day, we continually saw them show care and consideration for all of their friends and family!
We firmly believe that who you are as a person isn't shown when you are standing in the spotlight, but it's when you don't think anyone is watching you. It's these moments, especially when stress comes, that who we are really are is put on display. On their wedding day, Steph and Will continually displayed a character that really made us proud to be their photographers. Moments like watching them spend time at the church to make sure that everything was taken care of so that they wouldn't be putting others out on their wedding day, or listening to them share the story of how a vendor missed their date and their response we simply "Well, it's not that big of a deal." When we think of Steph and Will on their wedding day, we think of two people who had the right priorities on the day, from start to finish!
Between Summit Church for the ceremony and the Chicory Event Center in downtown Mishawaka, Steph and Will picked each location for the absolute best time with their family and friends in mind! Summit Church (which is also their home church) reminded them of the foundation they were building their marriage on, and Chicory was the perfect size to fit all of their friends and family while still allowing plenty of room for the all-important dancing after dinner! Even though a far-off storm threatened Steph and Will's portraits all throughout the day, the clouds held off to the point that Mishawaka simply glowed with the soft light that we dream of for wedding days! Both the church and the event center were right next to beautiful areas where Steph and Will rolled through their photos like the J+A veterans they are!
Steph and Will, on a day that was all about you, we constantly saw you making it about others. The way you meticulously planned things on your wedding day so that everyone would know when and where to go shows how you both care for others and truly want the best for them! You've probably been told this a million times by this point, but as you continue on into this beautiful new phase of life, make sure to continue being intentional with each other first and foremost! It's still some of the best advice we were ever given when we got married, and we know that you two will be pros at being intentional as you grow closer together as husband and wife! All our best!

Stephanie, you had such a loving group of bridesmaids who pitched in to help you with everything from your makeup, to touching up your hair, holding your dress, and etc. They were FOR YOU the entire day, and it was such an honor to watch!
We loved capturing these sweet moments not only between mother and daughter, but also between Stephanie and her soon-to-be Mother-in-law!
Stephanie told her dad to get the tears out before their walk down the aisle. Even though we are pretty sure we saw tears at both places, it truly showed the immense love in between this dad and his only baby girl.
