Taylor + Matt | Beach Engagement | Warren Dunes State Park | New Buffalo, MI

"Would you say that you enjoy surprises?" If you asked this question to 10 people, you would probably get 10 different answers. Sometimes, surprises can ruin our day, week, month, or even year...but other times, they can be just what we needed in the moment to feel loved and appreciated. It's not often that we get to capture a moment of genuine surprise during an engagement shoot, but Taylor had a special treat planned for Matt, and after working with the girls from Sincerely K & J, we can only hope that this trend is just beginning of picnics on our engagement shoots!

When Taylor and Matt walked out of the Starbucks we were meeting them in front of with a drink in hand, we knew the four of us were going to get along perfectly. The next two hours was simply one of the best evenings we've had in New Buffalo in a long time as we got to explore new downtown locations with Taylor and Matt, all while making sure that we didn't spoil the surprise! Once we arrived at Warren Dunes, Taylor's picnic for her future husband was perfectly laid out on a lone bluff where the two were able to take a few final photos before spending the rest of the evening soaking in the gorgeous views of Lake Michigan before heading home.

Taylor and Matt, as we think back to the evening we spent with you, we simply become overwhelmed and your incredible thoughtfulness for others. From buying a drink in the Starbucks store to planning a full-on picnic to celebrate, the whole evening reflected an inner beauty in your relationship that was only rivaled by how stunning you both looked as you traversed the streets and sands of New Buffalo. We are already so looking forward to spending time with you two again next year and this time, celebrating you two becoming husband and wife!
