Words have power. They can build us up in one moment and tear us down the next. There are few moments, however, where words have more power than on the wedding day during the vows. These few moments where one's heart is displayed for their soon to be spouse is, by far, one of the most impactful moments of the wedding day, and we couldn't think of a better way to describe Val and Josh's vows than the word "intentional." In fact, to say that the word "intentional" perfectly describes Val and Josh would be an understatement as so many little details of their wedding day had important significance to these two.
Maybe it was the handwritten letter to each vendor at the reception or the small pins from Josh's dad that Josh wore during the day, but if one were to take these two examples and multiply them over the entire day, one could begin to understand how truly thoughtful Val and Josh are to both each other and those around them. These two have a quiet sweetness to them that draws others around them, and once they have others around them, they quickly turn the attention back onto others to help them feel loved and appreciated, to the point that they wanted to greet and thank each guest for attending as the reception began!
The Sweet House Foundation is nestled right outside of downtown Grand Rapids and gave Val and Josh the perfect venue for spending their wedding day with their friends and family. From the elegant upstairs reception hall to the intimate atmosphere vibe of the dance floor, each room of the Sweet House contained a uniqueness that wove together in a beautiful way. In addition to the adorable indoors, Val and Josh were able to spend some time alone and grab some incredible Grand Rapids wedding photos in not one or two, but three different locations throughout the day!
Val and Josh, as we stood in the back of the room and listened to your vows, we are wholeheartedly convinced that you both have truly found the one that your soul longs for. The depths that you two love each other is grand, and yet you perfectly balance that depth with the ability to have fun and truly enjoy life with each other. Make sure to keep using your thoughtful words to build up, encourage, and support each other; we are so beyond thrilled for you and your new life together!
